THE HOTEL “ZAGUÁN DEL DARRO” The name “zaguán” comes from the classic hallway which is the entrance to the house. The building has the classical, characteristic square ground plant, wooden ceilings and stone staircase at the entrance. These steps were laid in the XVI century to enter the nice patio of an ancient noble house. The ZAGUÁN or hallway is preservaed just like it was in the past. The river stone walls, and the mortar and brick, hold hollows and larders where the clay sleeps and the light shines. The whole atmosphere invites to enter the “Zaguán del Darro”. |
